Invite Esker Spirits to your next BBQ.
When we started talking about this blog, we knew we were taking a chance… a post about barbecuing in August? It’ll never work! But here we are, blogging about BBQ - and the sun is still shining (here at least!). There is something special about enjoying time outdoors with people we love - and sharing an Esker or two of course.
We’d like to share some of our favourite Esker/BBQ pairing ideas with you - and we’re always delighted to hear about your favourites too!
Esker Gin
Esker works brilliantly with some of the oily meats. Try pairing it with barbecued fish - salmon is great. The citrus in the gin cuts through the oily fish and gives a fresh take on the flavours.
Suggested Esker serves/cocktails:
Esker Served with Merchant’s Heart Pink Peppercorn Tonic and Orange Zest
Esker Gold
Coming with the sweetness of honey and some gentle spices, Esker Gold makes a great partner for traditional BBQ flavours - when you think of barbecue sauce, it has that sweet spiciness. Why not try Esker Gold with barbecued chicken or pork - or some great sausages.
Suggested Esker Gold cocktails:
Esker Gold with Fevertree Light Ginger Ale & Fresh Strawberries
Esker Silverglas
A summer favourite with Team Esker. Our Silverglas London Dry is light, fresh and citrusy which means it pairs perfectly with aromatic Thai or Vietnamese flavours. Great with hot and spicy squid or zingy lime and chili marinated prawns. So why not throw a couple on the barbie?!
Silverglas with Summer House Drinks Hint O Mint Lemonade, served with Fresh Mint and Lemon Peel
Esker Fruit Gins & Vodkas - Scottish Raspberry Gin, Valencian Orange Gin
Did someone say summer? The fresh, fruity flavours of our fruit gins and vodka are made to be enjoyed on sunny days. The natural fruit flavours work well in sharing cocktails (or pitcher sized G&Ts), and they pair well with olives and nuts for aperitif time.
Suggested flavoured gin/vodka cocktails
Why not add our flavoured vodkas to your weekly shop in Scottish Sainsburys stores?
Use the #EskerSpirits hashtag when sharing your BBQ pairings with us on social media too. Cheers!
