A perfect pairing – Esker Spirits

Steve and Lynne took part in the Scottish Gin Society’s Perfect Pairing Valentines feature in February, showcasing some of Scottish Gin’s gin-producing couples! We thought that we spend a lot of time talking about our gin’s, so you might like to know a little bit about the Duthie’s behind Esker Spirits. 

How did you meet?

In a pub, after mutual friends plotted to put us together.

How did you begin your Scottish Gin journey together?

It started with a love of gin, an interest in the distilling process and how botanicals work together.  We bought a little still for the kitchen and it took off from there.

What’s the best thing about working together?

Probably the feeling of being in this together – and sharing a lift to work at the distillery.

What do you like to do together when you’re not working?

We both love motorsport, particularly Formula 1, along with going to festivals and gigs. We also love skiing when the conditions are right – and teaching our 4-year-old to ski means having great family time.

Do you have any plans for Valentine’s Day?

We will probably spend it working, although we might share a sandwich at lunchtime!
