Say Hello to Our New Premium Vodka!

This weekend we are delighted to be releasing the very first batch of our premium birch sap vodka!

Many of you might know Esker better for our range of premium and flavoured gins, but we have also been busy experimenting with vodka production over the last couple years and we can’t wait to share the newest member of the Esker family with you all…

During lockdown we produced some popular flavoured vodkas including Spiced Pear, Scottish Raspberry and Orange & Pomegranate. This range has been really well received but we are asked a lot about plans to release a classic un- flavoured vodka. We also know that nowadays many people seem keen to eat and drink more local produce and while there are other Aberdeenshire based spirit brands, premium vodka producers are less common in this part of the world, and in Scotland in general. So, we saw a gap in the market and thought why not give it a go?

Our new vodka is distilled with Esker’s signature botanical, locally foraged silver birch sap, which creates an ultra-smooth spirit. The vodka is made in a traditional a copper pot still, which gives it extra character and depth as well as a subtle hint of citrus.

Our brand lead, Julia, hopes our new vodka will bridge the gap between the super-premium and the well-known mainstream brands.  “We have the likes of Grey Goose and some other big premium brands at the top end of the vodka market, then there are the supermarket labels and mainstream vodkas without a whole lot in between. We like to think that the quality of our spirit will tick boxes for the vodka purists out there who like to drink vodka neat…’ (The ultra- smooth vodka can be sipped straight from freezer and makes an excellent martini too!) “..but we also wanted to hit a more accessible price point so that people will feel comfortable drinking this vodka with their favourite mixer”

The recommended serve is with a premium club soda and a slice of pink grapefruit, which makes a refreshing and summery twist on the classic Vodka, lime and soda. The vodka also works well served with tonic, colas and ginger ale - so it really is up to you how to drink it!

To celebrate the release of the new vodka, we have chosen to launch the product in a couple of very special ways:

If you are attending this year’s Taste of Grampian festival, you will have one of the first opportunities to sample and purchase the vodka. We are so excited to be back at the festival after such a long break. It will be such a great way to celebrate the launch of our new vodka, so make sure you come and say hello!

We are also super delighted to reveal that we have teamed up with new Aberdeen restaurant, Amuse by Kevin Dalgleish. Our vodka will feature as the house-pour and in classic cocktails, giving those of you dining out in the city an exclusive chance to try the product.  This is going to be great collaboration as Kevin and his team at the restaurant are putting a big focus on provenance and local producers. The team are so passionate about the new vodka and we know they will pass this on to their customers and spread the good word about this product for us. We have even created a bespoke labelling for Amuse which features the new restaurant’s logo.

This summer we have a really busy calendar of events across Aberdeenshire and are so keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook page for details on where and when you can catch us.

Looking forward to meeting you all once again and raising few ESG’s (Esker Vodka, Soda and Grapefruit) with you over the next few months!

Come and meet Team Esker and sample the new vodka at Taste of Grampian this weekend at P&J Live.

Our new premium vodka will be available on general release from  www.eskerspirits.com from the 6th of June.

Look out for Esker Vodka at new restaurant, Amuse by Kevin Dalgleish, coming soon to Aberdeen.
