Gin of the month? We're thinking pink!
Here we are looking at a new month, and another long weekend (for some!). As a team, we're rarely fully 'off' but there something lovely about the summer long weekends and the occasional holiday Monday. To celebrate the start of the summer, we thought we'd give Esker Scottish Raspberry Gin a shot in the limelight and feature it as our 'gin of the month'.
While it is a deep, jammy red in the drum when we macerate the berries, it is a beautiful pale blush once itβs bottled. There's something about the combination of the colour and the heady scent of berries that makes us long for days in the garden. Flavoured gins are certainly having their moment in the sun. When we started distilling Esker, we couldn't have imagined how important our flavoured gins would become.
Scottish Raspberry was our starting point - given that we have wild raspberries growing outside the distillery, we couldn't avoid them! However... when it came to producing our gin, we had to look for a more consistent, and high quality fruit producer.
Castleton Farm was our first port of call - Steve had met Anna Mitchell, Castleton's owner, several times over the previous few years and we were delighted to have a reason to work with them. The raspberries are consistently high quality, the colour and flavour characterise our Scottish Raspberry gin (and vodka).
We have plenty of suggested serves and cocktails on our website - for inspiration, click here.

Cheers to sunny days!
