For the gin they wanted to create, the concept was simple – a classic gin with enhanced flavours to create a proper gin, complimented by mixers and garnish, not defined by them.
The result of scores of distillations and careful botanical selection was Esker Gin, a classic gin with a full flavour!
Many great projects have started in sheds, and Esker was to be no different. An empty workshop at the bottom of the garden became the first Esker distillery with one goal – to produce premium spirits with a real taste experience for the consumer.
Esker Gin’s key botanical is silver birch sap, a feature of Royal Deeside, and sourced by us from the trees of the local Kincardine Estate. The first gin in Scotland to use this botanical, the silver birch gives a uniquely luxurious feel to the spirit.
In late summer 2016 Esker’s popularity meant that an expansion was in order and the search began for a new premises, and in early 2017 the distillery moved to the Kincardine Estate, the home of its silver birch sap.
Multi award winning Esker Gin is now produced in the family owned distillery located on the highland estate on Royal Deeside Scotland. With over a dozen botanicals, it is a classic but distinctive full flavoured gin distilled in a traditional copper pot still, produced and bottled at our distillery.
